Progress Overview
As teachers, you need to monitor your students’ progress so that you know what skills they still need to address or skills where students are excelling and are ready to move on. To view student progess on individual modules, along with an overview of diagnostic math, select the Students tab from the left hand menu. Here's some information on how CBMSkills works, along with a brief description of the easyCBM system.
CBMSkills® is a mastery monitoring system for determining if students are proficient
in a specific grade and skill area. In CBMSkills®, mastery is defined as percent proficient: Bronze (70%-79% of the items correct), Silver (80%-89% of the items correct),
or Gold (90% or more of the items correct). Students can then focus on modules needing practice (Bronze or below). The system is for use by teachers in Grades K through 5 and addresses both reading and math but this example applies only to math.
In contrast, easyCBM® is a general outcome measurement (GOM) system for (a) determining students at risk of learning problems (using benchmark measures) and (b) following up with students to determine if instructional interventions and practice are successful (using progress monitoring measures).
• A CAT is first administered in the student's grade level.
• Teachers are then presented a display of 12 modules in which a Probability (Prob) of mastery is presented (from 0% to 100%) for each Attribute (Skill).
• Teachers can adjust module assignment by adding or removing various modules.
• Students then complete assigned modules in practice mode (with feedback) or mastery mode (no feedback).
