Rearranging Students in Modules & Editing Modules

When students finish modules and are ready to be moved on to different modules, it can be confusing on how to move them from module to module. Please see below on how to move students from one Group or Module to another.

  • After logging into CBMSkills, it will take you to the landing page where you will see the STUDENT OVERVIEW. From here you will find the student and module you want to move them to, using the drop-down menu activated on the right of the Group name (v).

  • Use this drop-down menu under the type of measures (Math, Early Reading, Reading Fluency), and Placement Tests) for that student’s name and select which group you want to move them to (assuming you have a group already created); otherwise, you need to first create a group and then add students to this group.

  • After you have selected which new group that you want the student to be in, it will automatically show the new modules in that group that your student is now in. It will inform you of the change on the top right-hand corner of the screen.

  • Another way to change student modules from the landing page is to click on GROUPS on the left side of the screen.

  • From this page, in each group, you will see the shaded STUDENTS icon: Click on that and it will take you to see the students you have in that group.

  • Click the purple MANAGE STUDENTS button in the right corner.

  • ADD students who are not in the group next to their names in the top half of the screen.
  • You can also remove students by clicking the purple REMOVE button on the far right of their name.  
  • But also remember that “Students can only belong to one group type. Adding them to another group type will remove them from their current one.”

Editing Module Names

Changing the name of groups to reflect more closely what you want the names of your groups to be is easy.

  • Start from the GROUPS link on the landing page.

  • Find the group you want to change the name and click on the three grey dots on the right corner of the group.

  • From the drop down click on the RENAME option: It will prompt you to write in the new name of the group.
  • Notice that this link also allows you to move students (in and out of this group) as well as change modules that are in this group. Finally, you can also delete this group. See below.

  • Back to changing the name of the group: After typing in the new name of the group, click the purple UPDATE button.

  • After you have updated the name, it will give you an update in the top right-hand corner of the screen, and the new name will be updated on the groups screen.

Editing Modules from a Group: Add or Delete

Students will sometimes need a module that is a bit easier for them to complete or excel in the modules and are ready for the next step! Here is how you can delete a module from a group that is no longer needed.

  • Start from the GROUPS page from theCBMSkills landing page.

  • Click the MODULES button in the group you want to change the modules in it.

  • From this screen, click the purple MANAGE MODULES button in the top right corner.

  • To add or delete the modules, scroll down where you will see a list of all the modules in the group you created.

  • To delete the modules, click the purple REMOVE on the right of each module name.

  • It will then be removed from the modules in the group. Remove as many as needed, but be sure to add more for your students to access.
  • You can also remove modules directly from the screen where they are all displayed. Click on the three stacked dots to see that you can hide the module from students, view the items in the modules, or remove the module.
